What is different about the new NingXia Red?

Why was NingXia Red’s formula changed?
The previous formulation of NingXia Red was easily one of the most beneficial on the market; however, with new research and production techniques, the new formulation of NingXia Red is even more beneficial. The new formula features more essential oils, more antioxidants, and more healthy fruit juices.
Why is sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate used in NingXia Red?
NingXia Red uses whole wolfberries—juice, peel, seeds, and fruit—in a naturally beneficial juice puree. Using these safe and effective preservatives allows us to extend NingXia Red’s shelf life, maintain product integrity, and protect the wolfberry benefits, all while keeping it free of naturally occurring microorganisms.
Where are the juice concentrates (blueberry, plum, cherry, aronia, pomegranate) sourced?

How is the natural blueberry flavoring made?
The blueberry flavoring is a compounded flavoring (a blended mixture of ingredients).
Does NingXia Red contain any corn, gluten, soy, or nuts? Are any ingredients derived from corn, gluten, soy, or nuts?
Where is the vanilla sourced?
From what is the pectin derived?
Pectin is a natural fiber present in almost all fruits. The pectin in NingXia Red is sourced from the variety of citrus fruits it contains.
Why did you replace agave with stevia?
In the process of making the new NingXia Red even more beneficial, we reduced its caloric content by using stevia, a non-caloric, natural sweetener. In addition, using the stevia lowered NingXia Red’s overall sugar content. We recommend that you drink more NingXia Red each day and feel confident knowing that you are not consuming excess calories and sugar. Stevia leaf and extracts have been used for centuries. Stevia glycosides can be up to 300 times sweeter than sugar. The specific glycoside rebaudioside A, which is used in NingXia Red, imparts the best flavor with the least amount of aftertaste.
How many grams of sugar are in 1 ounce of NingXia Red?
Testing shows the new NingXia Red contains only 2 grams of sugar per ounce.

What is yuzu oil?
Yuzu (Citrus junos) is a citrus fruit similar to the satsuma mandarin. It originated in China, but is used extensively as a flavoring in many Asian countries. Yuzu is commonly used for cooking because its rind is very fragrant. It is also used as a flavor enhancer in many dishes, including soups, fish, candies, and teas. The yuzu fruit is very tart and full of large, white seeds that make it difficult to eat. The essential oil, with its high levels of limonene, is used to support the body’s normal, anti-inflammatory responses, for aromatherapy, and for flavoring foods.*

What is aronia fruit?
Aronia (Aronia melanocarpa) originates from eastern parts of North America and Canada. The most interesting and beneficial property of aronia berries is their high polyphenol and antioxidant content. They contain significant amounts of anthocyanins, as indicated by their dark-violet color.
Why did the serving size change?
New and recent studies on the consumption of wolfberries and whole-fruit juices recommend up to 4 ounces a day to have the most beneficial effect. Also, with the removal of blue agave and the addition of seven times more essential oil, you can now enjoy a massive nutrient infusion without added fructose. Any one of NingXia Red’s vital and dense nutrient combinations could be the wellness solution you are looking for.
What is grape seed extract and why is it used?
NingXia Red’s previous formulation used grape pomace to add nutritional value and to increase its antioxidant potential. The pomace was an obstacle that kept Young Living from registering NingXia Red as a Kosher/Halal juice. As a result, we made a switch to a Kosher grape seed extract (GSE) that is also higher in polyphenolic content. The GSE is more of a brown color than the purple pomace, but it shows higher antioxidant content than its pomace counterpart. GSE is a patented product made in California from a special seed blend primarily from varietal white-wine grape seeds. The seeds are extracted with hot water. The extract is then purified, concentrated, and spray dried to high phenolic grape seed extract powder. GSE guarantees a minimum of 90 percent polyphenols and a standardized composition of monomers, oligomers, and polymers.
Why did you remove raspberry and apricot and use plum, aronia, and sweet cherry instead?
The primary reason for the change was to maintain a delicious flavor while adding more beneficial juices to the mix.
Is NingXia Red still flash pasteurized?
Yes. Every batch of NingXia Red is prepared with our Nutrient Guard technology and we only use high-temperature flash pasteurization.

What is NingXia Red’s shelf life?
Unopened, the transformed NingXia Red will remain safe and effective at least 18 months from its production. Once opened, you should refrigerate NingXia Red and enjoy it within 30 days.

Is NingXia Red considered vegetarian/vegan?
May I add different/additional essential oils to NingXia Red?
Yes! NingXia Red already benefits from higher amounts of orange, lemon, tangerine, and yuzu essential oils, but we encourage you to be creative and mix NingXia Red with your favorite oils that are labeled for internal consumption.
